We are very proud of our Sixth Form and the school's strong reputation in the community; the focus of the Sixth Form College at Thurstable is you, the students - your well being, your academic outcomes, your personal success and achievements, and an opportunity to shape your future.

We pride ourselves in offering a unique, often bespoke academic and enrichment programme; small class sizes, top of the range facilities, links with Colchester United and the University of Essex through the VI6 programme; a truly unique opportunity to study A-Levels in a University setting, taught by outstanding teachers, is testament to this.

A school Sixth Form, such as ours offers a sense of continuity through your studies – a seven year educational and aspirational journey. We will get to know you, be able to advise you, and target your areas of strength and development; you will be listened to, valued and respected; whilst challenging you to be your best, every step of the way.

We expect you to work hard in a broad range of challenging courses, but, at the same time, make a wider contribution to the school and the community at large. We aim to ensure that you are prepared for your future; we offer expert advice and guidance - walking you through the UCAS application process when applying to University, apprenticeship applications, or indeed the world of work. Our enrichment programme is varied and designed to build you as a person, and learner - you will be given leadership opportunities through the Student Leadership Team, supporting younger students in their learning and many more.
