Applications Procedure
If your child is in Year 6 of a primary or junior school during the 2024/25 academic year, you will need to apply for their secondary school place for September 2025 via Essex County Council here.. The closing date for applications for Year 7 in September 2025: 31st October 2024. At present, we have a Planned Admission Number (PAN) of 210 for Year 7 admission.
Please note: All applications received after the closing date will be treated as late by Essex County Council and will only be processed after all on-time applications. You are less likely to get a place at one of your preferred schools if you apply late.
Mid-Year Admissions
If you would like to change your child's current school, you will need to complete the Mid Year Admissions Form. Prior to this, we advise that you contact us to ensure we have availability to accommodate your request.
Please note that the school published admission number (PAN) only applies to the usual point of entry in school – at Thurstable School, this would be for Year 7. For other year groups, which are not the usual points of admission, it will be for the school to determine whether there are available spaces or whether admission beyond a particular level would cause prejudice to the provision of efficient education, causing problems in delivering appropriate education provision for its existing students.
Admission Appeals
If your child is not offered a place at our school, you can appeal against the decision. You need to make an appeal within 20 days of receiving the decision letter or email.
