Character & Community Week

Character and Community Week

Each year in the final week of the summer term we host a week of activities, fondly known as activities week by the students. Our Character and Community week offers students the opportunity engage in inspiring and exciting character developing experiences.

One of the defining features of the week is the traditional Year 7 Bushcraft Camp. All students have the opportunity to join us on a residential trip to a Bushcraft Camping centre where they will learn the essential skills to survive in the wild! A three day, jam packed adventure awaits every Year 7 at Thurstable School

Summer 2024 saw the biggest and best Character and Community week we have ever hosted. Students had the opportunity to get involved in some of the following experiences across the course of the week:

Here’s what the students had to say:

“It was extremely fun and engaging. It was great to experience what the real DofE would be like before fully committing “ - Martha Y9

“Because the first two days were great and the water park was amazing!” - Tommy Y9

“Everything I took part in was enjoyable and all the staff had put together something that was fun and interesting .“ - Evie Y8
