Yondr Mobile Phone System (Parental Information)
To promote better mental fitness and increase academic focus, mobile phones are not allowed to be used on the school site. In order to make sure this happens across the school, students are allowed to bring their phones to school but they must be placed and locked in their Yondr pouches at the beginning of the school day at the Yondr Station at the front of school. Students will maintain possession of their phones and will not use them until their pouches are opened at the end of the school day at one of the two exit points - front of school and Barbrook Gate.
Students are required to bring their Yondr pouch to and from school each day and are responsible for their pouch at all times.
Form tutors will check to see the Yondr pouches at the beginning of each day.
Should a mobile phone be seen or heard, the first time it happens, the student will be isolated and the phone will be returned at the end of the day.
For any subsequent occurrence, the student will be isolated and the phone only returned to an adult family member. The school reception will be open between the hours of 08.00 and 16.15.

What happens if a student forgets to open their pouch at the end of the day?
In Yondr’s experience, this almost never happens. All students funnel past the unlocking stations at the exits, they want their phones back and don’t forget to unlock their pouches. If they do arrive home with a phone in a pouch, they can either come back to school to unlock it, or have a phone free evening!
Will my student’s phone be safe?
Students are in possession of their phone - in their Yondr pouch - for the entire school day. We will advise students to store the pouch in their backpacks where it is completely safe.
What if the Yondr pouch gets damaged?
Damage consists of any signs that the physical integrity of the pouch has been compromised, whether intentional or unintentional, as determined by the school or Yondr staff. If f a student damages their Pouch or is caught on their phone, we will collect the phone/Pouch and call home: Damaged pouches will be billed to parents at a cost of £25.
What should a student do if they forget to bring their pouch to school?
Students need to hand in their phone and collect it at the end of the day to their tutor and it will be collected and kept safely.
