Arbor
All school communication with parents and carers will take place through Arbor. This includes important updates, messages, reports and key information throughout the school year. We ask that all parents ensure they are registered and able to access their account so they do not miss any communications. Please use the button below to view the Parent Guide, which provides step-by-step instructions on how to log in and make the most of the system.
Free School Meals
If you have any questions or concerns about Free School Meal applications please do not hesitate to contact our Finance Department by email on finance@thurstable.co.uk .
Even if your child was entitled to free school meals whilst at Primary School, in order to receive Free School Meals at Secondary School you will need to reapply in advance of your child starting with us at Thurstable School in September. Please use the following website address to make an online application with Essex County Council, who administer the applications. Essex County Council have informed us that you will be able to do this at any time after 1 March.
It is important that you register if you are entitled to Free School Meals even if your child does not intend to take advantage of the allowance as this brings additional funding to the school. If you do wish to take advantage of the allowance, an amount of £2.50 will be credited to your child’s lunch card daily. However, the allowance will not be visible to the student on their card. If you wish to increase the amount available for your child to use in the school canteen, you can make a payment to their account.
