APPLYING TO SIXTH FORM

Choosing to continue your education at Thurstable Sixth Form level will give you the chance to pursue your interest in subjects which interest you at a higher level. As a Sixth Form student we want you to be able to realise your academic potential, whilst developing the personal and social skills which will equip you for life beyond education. We also want to ensure you are given every support in planning your chosen route past Sixth Form education, whether it is to university or to full time employment.

By choosing to continue to study at Thurstable School Sixth Form Centre you will be opting to remain in an environment where staff care about your personal development and your academic progress.

You will be in the unique situation whereby you are the leaders of a thriving school, providing positive role models to younger students, but also separate to the main school with your own privileges and responsibilities. Both tutor groups and subject classes remain small and entirely able to focus on you as an individual and, as a result, staff are able to support you as an individual.

Entry Requirements

To study A-levels, or a combination of A-levels and BTEC Level 3, or solely BTEC Level 3 qualifications students must meet the entry requirements of the subject they wish to study (see accompanying Sixth Form prospectus).

A grade 4 in both English and Mathematics is also required and students who do not achieve this will be required to re-sit GCSE English and/or Mathematics in Year 12.
